No sooner had Squire Anthony Whitfield's children wished on their governess' Christmas angel for a new mother than their father filled the house with eligible ladies coveting the position. The children were given their choice of the fine ladies presented to them, but they had already given their hearts to their governess, Sarah Barnes.
